Dio concert review; April 17th, 1997 by Mark Wickham

The following is a review of a Dio show of the third North American leg of the Angry Machines tour, originally e-mailed to me.

DIO took the stage in this old ballroom at 10:00 PM and opened up with Jesus, Mary, and the Holy Ghost. He was rockin' and definitely loving the crowd which was standing room only. The third song was Heaven and Hell and was played in its entirety without a medley...a real crowd pleaser.

The real treat came from the Rainbow tunes he pulled out of the hat...Mistreated medley with Catch the Rainbow and Man on the Silver Mountain medley with Long Live Rock and Roll! As a couple of the other reviews have mentionned, he played nearly the entire Holy Diver album (I wish he'd played Gypsy at our show, though.)

Ronnie played for a solid two hours with his traditional energy and raw performance. I have been to a lot of shows and this was the fifth time I'd seen DIO...I can say with confidence it was my best show to date.
