Bill Ward was born as William Ward on May 5th, 1948 in UK. Before forming
Black Sabbath
with the other original Black Sabbath members, he played
together with
Tony Iommi
in at least two bands.
Bill Ward left Black Sabbath suddenly in August 1980, only a day before they
were supposed to play in Hawaii to a sold-out audience. The reason Ward gave
was the family problems, as well as health problems. Ward had serious drug
and alcohol problems. After parting his ways with Black Sabbath, he rejoined
them in 1983 for a while and then continued on solo career.
